After the first months of cooperation, Zeppelin Power Systems and Optimarin draw a positive balance. Zeppelin is the official partner[ds_preview] for the Optimarin Ballast System in Germany, Poland and the CIS countries. Operating with filtration and UV light the system stands for environmentally friendly, cost efficient and robust ballast water treatment, the companies state. It is flexible, easy to install and is based on a simple and robust design for low maintenance.

Klaus Dammann, Head of Sales for Ballast Water Treatment Systems at Zeppelin Power Systems says: »The partnership with Optimarin is developing very positively. In a constant exchange we optimized our technology in that way that our customers benefit from a fully developed, mature system as well as the necessary competence for installation and service.« The systems previously installed by Zeppelin Power Systems were handed over to customers and are proving excellent in operation, he adds. »We believe, that the upcoming IMO convention in April will give even more impetus to the topic of ballast water treatment. There is already considerable interest but without the ratification and the binding legislation the market still reacts somewhat reluctant. We are confident that this situation changes in the second half of the year and we are ready to fulfill all customer demands with regards to ballast water treatment«.
