Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has received two separate orders from container terminal operator International Container Services (ICTSI) in the Philippines[ds_preview]. The company will deliver in total 42 Ottawa terminal tractors, five reachstackers and two rubber-tyred gantry cranes (RTGs) to Manila International Container Terminal (MICT), and 16 Ottawa terminal tractors and two RTGs to Subic Bay International Terminal Corporation (SBITC). The orders have been booked into the first quarter of 2015.

Two of the Gloria reachstackers (DRG450-60S5M) and three empty container handlers (DCT80) have been supplied to MICT at the end April 2015. All Ottawa terminal tractors will be delivered to Manila and SBITC’s new container terminal in Zambales during the third quarter of this year. The delivery of Kalmar E-One2 RTGs is scheduled for completion by end-November this year.

The expansion of terminal operations currently underway at MICT and SBITC has required an increase in the existing fleets. The new units should help to increase the efficiency of the loading and unloading of containers and cargo in the ports, as well as assisting with anticipated growth.
