The manufacturer has developed a new inherently buoyant lifejacket called the Crewsaver Premier Compact for the cruise and ferry passenger[ds_preview] market. The 143N lifejacket has been designed to comply with the new resolution MSC.378(93) revised recommendations on the testing of lifejackets, which comes into force on 1 January 2016. Designed specifically to comply with the revised 2016 LSA Code, the Premier Compact’s streamlined stack-and-stow profile is 42% smaller than the current Premier 2010 and takes up less storage space on board (17.4l). This makes it easier for a vessel to carry additional lifejackets, readily accessible in public spaces, at muster stations and on deck.

A unique design of the neck opening allows for increased wearer comfort, while durability is assured by the use of tried and tested quality components. The easy pull-out pillow makes for intuitive donning and an additional buckle on the front enhances the security of the fit. A chamfered edge on the bottom of the lifejacket reduces the risk of snagging when using an evacuation system. A buddy line and whistle stored in a recessed pocket are included as standard. Optional accessories include a spray hood, various lifejacket light options and crotch straps.

Ross Wilkinson, Managing Director commented, »In response to the regulatory changes and the demand for reduced bulk and improved storage options for passenger lifejackets, we have developed the new Premier Compact. Just like the previous model – which has been hugely popular and a best-seller for Crewsaver – our new lifejacket delivers the crucial safety performance you would expect from Survitec. Furthermore its significantly reduced volume, easy-stack profile and increased wearer comfort will be a real plus for our customers going forward.«
