What makes the new Schottel EcoPeller special is its high efficiency and robustness, the manufacturer says. This is mainly due[ds_preview] to the new and patented HTG (High Torque Gear) technology, making the EcoPeller a low-maintenance system and reducing service costs. Moreover, the slim housing improves hydrodynamic capabilities. At the same diameter of bevel wheels the HTG offers transmission of a drive torque 15% higher at the same safety requirements by classification societies. Through a special gearbox design the engineers managed to significantly reduce the risk of cracking and wear.
