Hyundai Merchant Marine (HMM) has adopted INTRAA’s eVGM Service to facilitate compliance with the International Maritime Organization’s (IMO) Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) Verified Gross Mass (VGM) amendment.

Under the new rule, which went into effect on July 1, 2016, every conta[ds_preview]iner must have a VGM or certified weight in order to gain clearance to be loaded onto a ship. INTTRA’s eVGM Service is available in two versions – for Carriers and Shippers.

By adopting the system, John Kim, Deputy General Manager, Global CS Team at HMM, sees a major benefit in connecting directly with key customers through a variety of channels, including EDI, XML, the web and mobile devices.

HMM has a long relationship with INTRAA, an ocean shipping electronic marketplace.
