Greece’s Diana Containership[ds_preview]s reported a net loss of 126.8 mill. $ for the third quarter of 2016 – mainly the result of 118.9 mill. $ of impairment charges for seven vessels.
Without the impairments the result for the quarter would have been a net loss of $7.9 mill. $ compared to a net loss of 9.1 mill.$ for the respective period of 2015 and 21.7 mill.$ for the nine-months-period respectively.
Time charter revenues, net of prepaid charter revenue amortization, were halved at 8.0 mill.$ for the third quarter of 2016, compared to 16.1 mill. $ for the same period of 2015, mainly due to reduced employment opportunities and time charter rates.
Net loss for the nine months ended September 30 amounted to 140.6 mill. $ against 8.7 mill. $ for the same period of 2015. Time charter revenues for the period stood at 27.7 mill. $ compared to 47.3 mill.$ in 2015.
