The supplier of equipment, vessels and services for offshore and dredging, Royal IHC, has completed the »Jun Yang 1«. Asia‘s[ds_preview] biggest dredger was handed over October 10 in a ceremony in Guangzhou City, China. The vessel built in the Netherlands is operated by China Communications Construction Company’s Guangzhou Dredging. Propelled by two MAN type 9L48/60CR main engines, the 167.5m × 30m trailing suction hopper dredger (TSHD) features a performance of up to 21,028m3 per hour. Both suction tubes have a dredging depth of up to 60m, and the starboard suction tube that can be extended to a dredging depth of 90m. The suction pipe diameter is 1.2m.

The vessel‘s first mission will be Colombo Port City project in Sri Lanka, one of the »One Belt, One Road« cooperation projects between China and Sri Lanka.
