Brodosplit to build polar expedition cruise vessel

The ship will be built in the class LR PC6[ds_preview] (Polar Class 6) and this will be the first cruise ship in the world ever built in this class. The Croatian shipyard has not named the buyer of the newbuilding, yet. 

By signing this agreement, Brodosplit is strongly progressing in the realization of its business plans and is determining its position as an inevitable European shipbuilding system that builds highly complex vessels which achieve high competitiveness, said Tomislav Debeljak, CEO of the Brodosplit Shipyard. The emphasis in this shipbuilding market is the added value for the Client and also for the Builder which is the basis for successful business, he continued.

The ship will be built in the class LR PC6 (Polar Class 6) and this will be the first cruise ship in the world ever built in this class. It will host 196 passengers thanks to its eight decks and 95 cabins, while 69 crew members will look after their needs. The ship will be 107.6 m long and 17.6 m wide. It will be driven by two engines with a total output of 4,200 kW and will be able to reach a speed of 15 knots.

The vessel will be equipped with all necessary systems so passengers can visit the glaciers above and below the sea level enjoying the view at this unique biological and animal life from best perspective. They will be accommodated in luxury cabins and suites where ship systems will provide a safe and pleasant stay.
