The supplier in cryogenic valve design and manufacture Parker Bestobell Marine has[ds_preview] been awarded to supply cryogenic globe valves for nine liquid natural gas (LNG) carriers to be built for the Yamal gas field in Russia. The 4.67mill. € order from Korea’s Daewoo Marine Shipbuilding & Engineering (DSME) is a follow up to orders for the initial six ships in the 15-vessel series.

In October 2015, Parker Bestobell Marine had secured the order for the second vessel of the series. Parker Bestobell Marine’s cryogenic globe and check valves will be used in the cargo handling system on the vessels including the main discharge line throttling valves that control the initial flow of LNG from the cargo tanks when pumping first starts. The ships are designed specifically for the LNG Yamal project in Russian Siberia and will operate under Arctic conditions. The recent order is the largest in the company‘s history.
