Hempel appoints Maersk manager Hansen as CCO

Leading coatings manufacturer Hempel has appointed Michael Hansen as new Chief Commercial Officer and Executive Vice President.

He will commence on his new position on 1 May, coming from Danish maritime giant Maersk, where he most recently held the position of Vice President &amp[ds_preview]; Global Head of Sales in Maersk Line, the world‘s biggest container liner.

Hansen will be part of Hempel’s Executive Management Board, reporting directly to Group President & Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Henrik Andersen. »Based in the headquarters in Denmark, the new CCO will cooperate with his colleagues across the world and across Hempel’s different coating segments: Protective, Marine (including Container and Yacht) and Decorative«, Hempel said. He will play a central role in – and take charge of – executing on the commercial part of Hempel’s 2020 strategy »Journey to Excellence«, which has a clear focus on the customer.

The company adds, that after 19 years in Maersk, Hansens knowledge about the marine industry and global sales processes are important to Hempel’s »Journey to Excellence« strategy, »which involves working even closer with customers to deliver trusted coating solutions that add real value to their business«.
