GTT has received and order from Hyundai Heavy Industries to deliver its Mark II Flex containment system for a new LNG carrier with a size of 180.000m3. The delivery is scheduled for 2019.

The vessel is for the Norwegian shipping company Norspan LNG XI (Knutsen). Knutsen is a long[ds_preview]-standing owner of LNG carriers equipped with membrane technology. With ten vessels of this type, the Norwegians are renewing its confidence in GTT technology by choosing Mark III Flex for this new vessel.

First LNG order of this year

According to own information it is the first LNG carrier order of the year for GTT. With its Mark III Flex containment system, the manufacturer provides efficient insulation solution able to reduce the daily guaranteed boil-off gas rate to 0.085 % of tank volume. The Mark and NO ranges have been designed to meet all the transport and storage requirements of liquefied gases. Both technologies are continuously improved based on unparalleled feedback from actual use at sea.
