Due to the increasing ship sizes terminal operators face different challenges, for example to handle a larger number of containers in a shorter time. To deal with this digitisation is useful – one of the core themes of this year’s TOC Europe conference

A global audience of over 4,000 attendees from more than 80 countries is expected at this year’s TOC Europe[ds_preview] in Amsterdam from 27 to 29 June. More than 170 exhibitors will present their products and ideas to increase the efficiency of terminal operations and to make them more environmentally friendly. As in recent years product launches and equipment demonstrations are expected at TOC Europe 2017.

The Container Supply Chain (CSC) Conference brings together shippers, shipping lines, ports and terminals to promote collaboration throughout the supply chain. One main topic of the conference is the digitisation of the container supply chain and the new global economy.

With insights and expert opinion from senior analysts, academics, cargo owners and transport chain practitioners, TOC Europe 2017 will bring all the container supply chain stakeholders together to map out macro scenarios and strategies for the next phase of world container trade.

Furthermore two seminar tracks, Tech TOC and Bulk, will offer case studies and insights for container terminal professionals and also bulk cargo logisticians.

The traditional Tech TOC seminar places the spotlight on the container port with a free-to-attend technical conference running alongside the main CSC Conference that is not free of charge. The annual Tech TOC seminar at TOC Europe 2017 brings together terminal operators and users with planners and designers, equipment and technology providers to discuss current industry challenges and innovative responses.

As container terminals face a perfect storm of big ships, carrier consolidation and lower growth, the focus this year will be on how to cut waste, boost efficiency and build resilient, adaptive, constantly-improving operations. Creative use of technology to save money and time, plus how to collaborate (digitally and otherwise) with customers, cargo owners and landside supply chain operators will be explored in a series of focused, free-to-attend debates, presentations and workshops.

The Bulk Exhibition & Seminar is devoted to topics about bulk logistics & technology. It will enhance the knowledge and understanding of the business challenges facing ports, shipping & logistics companies operating in vital dry bulk freight industry.
