President of Lauritzen Kosan and interim head of dry bulk activities, Thomas Wøidemann, has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer (COO) of J. Lauritzen with effect from 1 July 2017.

Thomas Wøidemann will be responsible for the commercial and operational activities of Lauritzen[ds_preview] Bulkers as well as Lauritzen Kosan.

The promotion for Wøidemann comes after more than 15 years with the Lauritzen Group, of which the last six years as President of Lauritzen Kosan, and since March 2017 also as interim head of the group’s dry bulk activities.

Thomas Wøidemann will continue to be reporting to CEO Mads P. Zacho. The 43 year old new COO had his shipping training with K. I. Larsen. During 2001 until 2002 he worked as shipbroker at Atlas Marine in Houston, USA before joining Lauritzen Kosan in 2002. From 2003 to 2005, he worked as chartering manager at Exmar Kosan, Hong Kong.

Wøidemann was promoted Vice President of Lauritzen Kosan in 2005, Senior Vice President in 2006 before taking over full responsibility of our gas carrier activities as President of Lauritzen Kosan in 2011.
