Since 2007 the hand-held pre-assembly device of Schwer Fittings is part oft he company’s portfolio. Now it has been reviewed and improved. As before, the strength of the unit is the fast pre-assembly of cutting ring connections under EN ISO 8434-1 which guarantees a constant quality level. Thanks to[ds_preview] its mobility, the device can be used on the spot, avoiding time consuming transport of pipes to a machine. The position for pressure settings has been redesigned from an ergonomic perspective. The adjustment part is now also better protected agains mechanical damages. This results in low maintenance. Thanks to new generation Li-Ion batteries it was possible to increase the operating voltage to 18 V. All new battery technologies, such as quick charging within just a few minutes or the elimination of the memory effect, are integrated. This increases the number of possible pre-assemblies before a battery exchange.
Directly after switching on, the unit conducts a self-check for a few seconds. The result is indicated by LEDs. These also show the battery charge level. The lighting of the working area has also been improved. An energy-saving circuit helps to save battery power. The assembly head can be turned 90°. The self-centering clamping mechanism has been improved and is now absolutely wear-resistant. The unit’s weight is less than 8kg allowing for easier over-head assembly. A table adapter and a tripod are also available.
