Japan Engine Corporation (J-ENG) has finished shop test for the first 10UEC50LSE-Eco-B1 engine. It will be delivered to the Shimonoseki Shipyard Machinery Works of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries at the end of this month.
There it will be installed in a RoRo vessel of the ship owner [ds_preview]Fujitrans. It is the first 10 cylinder engine of 50 cm bore class which is one of the main products of J-ENG. Further, its functionality and operability have been improved with J-ENG’s latest 4th generation of electrically control system.
As the engine of RoRo vessel requires high power output, high revolution and limited height due to its engine room size, the engine needs relatively small bore size and many cylinders the manufacturer stated.
Since 10UEC50LSE-Eco-B1 engine has a feature to meet all these requirements, and other engine builders have no comparable lineup, increase of application of the engine to roro vessels is highly expected. According to J-ENG it completed this engine for the RoRo vessel which requires strictly punctual operation, based on accumulated know-how of manufacturing as the only one licensor with throughout business structure from development, design, manufacturing, and after-sales servicing.
