Cruise segment recovers

Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri sees a positive trend in 2014. In shipbuilding the[ds_preview] cruise segment recovered in terms of order intake and production volumes. The offshore segment saw slower order intake and lower margins, due to the low oil price and expectations of lower E&P spending. The total order intake was 5.639 bill. € compared to 4.998 bill. € in 2013. The Backlog amounted to 9.814 bill. € (8.068 bill. € in 2013). The revenue in 2014 was 4.399 bill. € compared to 3.811 bill. € in 2013. EBITDA amounted 297mill. € with margin at 6.8 % (298 mill. € in 2013, 7.8 %). EBIT amounted 198mill. € with margin at 4.5 % (209 mill. € in 2013, 5.5 %). The profit for the period amounted to 55 mill. € for 2014, decreasing from 85 mill.€ reported in 2013.The group expects a a sustained order intake in 2015, also in relation to the finalization of contracts for the Italian Navy fleet renewal program.
