New Passenger Boarding Bridge for Hamburg Cruise Center

TEAM, the world leading designer and manufacturer of sophisticated Passenger Boarding Bridges[ds_preview] (PBBs) for cruise and ferry terminals has recently been awarded a contract by the Fischereihafenentwicklungsgesellschaft mbH & Co. KG (FEG) to design and manufacture a KRONUS PBB for the new terminal building at Cruise Center II in Hamburg, Germany, currently in construction. Delivery of the PBB will take place in the summer of 2010.

Hamburgis reclaiming its long overlooked and underused industrial waterfront on the River Elbe with the development of HafenCity, currently the largest urban construction initiative under way in Europe. One part of the development is the construction of a modern passenger terminal building at the Cruise Center II on the Edgar Engelhard Quay in Altona, the historic centre of Hamburg. Inaugurated in August 2009, the Cruise Center II provides berthing for cruise vessels with a length of up to 300 meters. When in the summer of 2010 the construction of the new terminal building, designed by local architects Renner Hainke Wirth is completed, Hamburg will be able to operate with two functional cruise terminals; Cruise Center I and II. Hamburg expects to receive 110 cruise calls in 2010.
