Herbert Engineering Corp. (HEC) and classification society ABS are forming a joint[ds_preview] venture company, Herbert-ABS Software Solutions, LLC (Herbert-ABS). Herbert-ABS will offer leading edge loading and salvage analysis software packages as well as software design tools to the maritime and offshore industries.
Herbert-ABS will own, market and support the existing suite of Herbert Software Solution, Inc. products including its shipboard loading software (CargoMax), salvage response software (HECSALV), and load management software for offshore structures (LMP). Herbert-ABS will leverage the resources of ABS Nautical Systems, as well as the HEC offices in China and Europe to provide its clients worldwide service and support.
Herbert-ABS is committed to providing consistent and quality support and service to our existing HSSI customers. Herbert-ABS is positioned to enhance existing products and develop new solutions on an accelerated schedule. It is also anticipated that the new venture will make use of ABS Nautical Systems worldwide sales, training, and 24/7 support network to better serve our customers.
While CargoMax, HECSALV, and LMP will remain independent products available directly from Herbert-ABS, we also anticipate upcoming development to integrate some of the Hebert-ABS products into the ABS Nautical Systems’ marine and offshore product suites. Our first new venture effort with ABS will be a combined load management, condition monitoring, and emergency response package for offshore vessels. It will be offered as an enhancement to the existing Rapid Response and Damage Assessment (RRDA) service of ABS Nautical Systems. Look for an announcement of other combined offerings with ABS Nautical Systems in the near future.
