500 million US$ investment with Goldman Sachs

The Harren & Partner Group and Goldman Sachs Capital Partners (GSCP) have agreed[ds_preview] to invest $ 500 million in OIG Offshore Installation Group to provide the financing for the company’s strategic growth and the acquisition of additional vessels, as well as to improve and expand its overall service offering. GSCP will be the majority shareholder of OIG. OIG will own two modern, high specification giant class offshore installation vessels. A third new built vessel will arrive in 2012. Furthermore, OIG will at closing acquire Global Mooring Services AS (»GMS«), strengthening its position in the offshore installation and mooring space. Jarle Andersen, GMS‘ founder and main shareholder, will be a significant shareholder in OIG and will join the company as Chief Operating Officer.
