Gottwald Port Technology, a subsidiary of Demag Cranes, is supplying 22 automated[ds_preview] guided vehicles (AGVs) to Europe Container Terminals (ECT) in Rotterdam. Gottwald’s type CT 60 AGVs are to replace the first-generation container transporters which have been in operation around the clock as part of the AGV fleet at the customer’s facility since the early 1990s. The new AGVs are equipped with fuel-saving diesel-electric drives and comply with the European EuroMot IIIB exhaust gas standard that has been in force since 2011.

Thomas H. Hagen, Member of the Management Board and COO of the parent company Demag Cranes emphasises: «By consistently continuing to develop the drive technology used in our transport systems for horizontal container transport, we are making a key contribution to optimising automated maritime ports. The future-orientated drive concepts for our AGVs contribute sustainably to reductions in harmful emissions and support our customers as they progress along the path towards the green port.«
