With 181 notified calls of 40 ocean cruise vessels, the passenger port of Rostock-Warnemünde is again headed for a[ds_preview] record year in the upcoming season. 24 international shipping companies have included the cruise port in the southern Baltic in their route planning.

The 2012 cruise shipping season will begin in April with the port call of »Aida Sol« and is expected to end in November whith the British passenger vessel »Black Watch«. »Of the 181 calls of ships notified, 74 will change all or some of their passengers. That represents a significant increase in this part of the cruise shipping business which has the highest value added«, said Dr. Ulrich Bauermeister, Managing Director of Hafen-Entwicklungsgesellschaft Rostock.

The cruise shipping calendar for 2012 lists three quadruple port calls. Six vessels will be first-time visitors at the mouth of river Warnow: »Costa Allegra«, »Costa Fortuna«, »Gann«, »Nautica«, »Star Flyer«, and »Ryndam«.

In the outstanding 2011 season 34 vessels called Rostock 158 times in total.
