Marintec trade fair grows and attracts international business to Shanghai
Maritime conference and exhibition Marintec China will provide a platform for the international marine business from 3 to 6 December 2013. According to host UBM Asia, Marintec China at Shanghai New International Expo[ds_preview] Centre will be the largest maritime trade show in Asia.

The last Marintec in 2011 already featured 1,483 exhibiting companies, and this time the trade fair will attract some more, which is quite exceptional as the 2011 event already broke all previous records. Back then, the expert audience reached new hights with a 19 % increase compared to 2009, UBM claims. In response to the demand for more exhibition space, six exhibition halls will be opened this time. At an area of over 70,000 m², 40 % more than in 2009, over 1,650 exhibitors from more than 30 countries and regions will be expected this time.

The event acts as an international marketplace for buyers while producers and service providers from ship design to offshore engineering and port design show their portfolio. The four-day show therefore covers the whole range of the marine business. Host UBM also features the maritime fairs Cruise Shipping Miami, Cruise Shipping Asia-Pacific, Seatrade Med, Marintec South America, Offshore Marintec Russia, Marintec Indonesia, Sea Japan and Bari-Ship. New events Marintec Indonesia and Offshore Marintec Russia are planned for 2014.

At Marintec China, however, ship operators, marine suppliers and shipyards meet in one place. The biennial fair was attended by 50,888 visitors last time. For the now 17th edition a majority of its previous exhibitors has announced to come again. Germany, by far the largest national group for years, will also have a pavilion again. Until HANSA copy deadline a total of 102 German exhibitors had announced to demonstrate their leading technical know-how there.

Furthermore, the Senior Maritime Forum, one of the most recognised maritime conferences in the world, will be running concurrently with Marintec China 2013 on 2–5 December in Kerry Hotel Pudong. This provides further opportunities to meet and greet relevant marine players. The Senior Maritime Forum will focus on »Green Technology, Transformation, Breakthrough« this year, comprising of different forums throughout the three-day event.
