With a long history and experience in ballast water retrofit projects and installations, Hyde Marine has further prepared for the[ds_preview] retrofit market by recently launching its IMO type-approved Hyde Guardian Gold Ballast Water Treatment System (BWTS). Offering the smallest footprint on the market, as Hyde Marine pointed out, the chemical-free system combines auto-backflushing filtration followed by medium pressure UV disinfection. This combination ensures that treatment can take place with no required hold time thus providing rapid turnaround times for vessel operations, the company said. The new screen filter allows for continuous flow to tanks during ballasting and reduction in power requirements. Delivery of these systems began already in 2014.

Additionally, Hyde Marine has partnered with several engineering and installation companies around the globe over the past few months in order to further enhance its technical expertise for ship

owners and operators. Engineering partners like ChoiceBallast and Goltens can help mitigate downtime for shipowners and operators as they seek to achieve ballast water treatment requirements, particularly for upcoming dry dockings. In some cases tools like laser scanning help to provide an accurate and efficient solution

for fitting a BWTS onboard. With reputable and established installation partners like Keppel, Grand Bahama Shipyard and Cardiff Craftsmen, Hyde Marine is able to offer the necessary support services required to perform complex installation, repair, upgrade and conversion projects. Now with over eleven years of shipboard operating experience, Hyde Marine has sold more than 360 systems for all vessel types and sizes.
