Together with Hamburg Port Authority (HPA) the terminal operator Cruise Gate Hamburg[ds_preview] (CGH) improves its conditions at Cruise Center Altona from spring 2017. A successful simulation of nautical conditions has shown that the terminal would be ready for the future after the extension of the access of the outer harbor terminal. Then moorings of the latest generations of ships from TUI Cruises and Aida Cruises will be possible, it is said. The widening restriction for cruise vessels at Cruise Center Altona will increase from currently 32,30m to a maximum of 40m, says harbour master, Jörg Pollmann. Within the project »adaption of the access of Vorhafen«, HPA is extending the entrance to the outer harbour to allow currently the largest container vessels to call at this part of the port.
