Heila Cranes has supplied a HLRM 65-6S and a HLRM 45-5SL crane to Damen Shipyards Group. They are intended for »Sycamore«, a Multi-role Aviation Training Vessel (MATV) built to provide services to the Royal Australian Navy.

The final delivery and acceptance recently took place in[ds_preview] Sydney, Australia, nearly three month ahead of schedule, Damen informs.

Heila Cranes and its Australian service partner, RGM Maintenance, were present at this occasion. »Sycamore«’s primary task is to provide a training platform for helicopter and unmanned aerial vehicle related operations. The 94 m long vessel, based on Damen’s OPV 2300 design, is also designed as a training platform for torpedo and mine recovery operations, the support of diving operations, and for navigation training. The project required tailor-made cranes for the MATV.
