Royal Huisman’s Project 406 is nearing completion. Designed by the Vripack Yacht Design Studio, the six-deck aluminium vessel is the world’s largest sportfisher ever built.
On its way from the shipyard’s inland facilities in Vollenhove, Project 406 is now preparing for the expected final stage – her launch in Amsterdam.
The hull of this unique vessel measures 52 metres. Huisman claims to have built not only the largest, but also the most luxurious and individual sportfishing yacht in the world. The design is very distinctive, with a long bow and high bulwarks sweeping through a clear sheer to a low and uncluttered cockpit aft. The striking high tower, in addition to its functional role in specialist fishing, also serves as a viewing platform for guests.
The Royal Huisman was built in Ronduite in 1884. The Dutch shipbuilder, best known for its large motor yachts, has drawn on the expertise of over 350 professionals to ensure the vessel is built to its high standards. Vripack Yacht Design is responsible for the exterior and interior design.
