In early February, new cruise ship »Aida Stella« has successfully completed its first journey on the River Ems after docking[ds_preview] at the Ems Wharf in Emden and accomplished its first sea trials on the North Sea. Accompanied by a big firework, »Aida Stella« had cast off from Papenburg before. The 71,300 GT (2,194 passenger) ship is the last of seven cruise vessels in a series built at Meyer Werft for Aida Cruises. The final interior works will be completed over the next few weeks, with the vessel being fitted with hotel equipment and furniture.

Meyer Werft will officially hand over the 253 m long and 32 m wide ship to the cruise shipping company on 11 March. Five days later, the tenth ship of Aida’s fleet will be christened in Rostock-Warnemünde.
