For the first time HANSA is presenting a comprehensive survey listing 360° azimuthal working podded drive series that are generally known as »pods«. Definitions for this equipment were made in the May issue of this magazine
The power range of every series quoted below comprises, as long as applicable, all kinds of applications of the series[ds_preview] concerned, from unlimited workboat propulsion units to yacht propulsion with limited operating time per year. Thus, the first information provided is the full power range of the series looked at. With the input speed most of all is said to obtain an impression whether a unit may be suitable or not.
The data listed are based on comments and completions of the manufacturers or were taken from the latest available brochures and/or their internet presentation. However, the data are published here with the reservation of a possible mistake. In a few cases there were no data available at all. Thus, only the company address and a general remark could be listed.
The programmes are listed in alphabetical order of the company names or the names of divisions respectively if groups of companies or combines are concerned. Within each programme the series are listed in the order of their output, always starting with the lowest value of the series concerned.
