The exhibition series which started in 1982 during the Cold War years has turned into a platform for cooperation attended by vistors from the Baltic neighbour countries today. The exhibition, which takes place every two years, offers a wide range of issues, this time structured according to seven fields of interest: Shipbuilding Industry, Offshore, Port and Terminal Facilities, Marine Navigation, Safety and Security, Evironment Protection and the field of Media, Law and Politics. It is Poland’s most important maritime event.

The exhibition’s general objective is to support the evolution of the maritime economy, tackling traditional as well as completely new issues, such as offshore power generation and intermodal transport. Wärtsilä and class society DNV’s branch DNV Software will be among the larger players in Gdansk. This comprehensive programme starts with the newly established Polish-Norwegian Maritime Business Forum on 3 and 4 September where the question of LNG and innovative ship design will be on top of the list. This Forum will also deal with general aspects of cooperation between both countries including mutual trade and investment. The second day of the Forum will focus on offshore energy and all aspects of cooperation as for marine wind farms.

During these two days, specific aspects of the Polish maritime sector beyond bilateral cooperation will also be discussed, of course. At the beginning of this year’s conference series, attendees may gather latest information on the character of the offshore market in Poland. The current situation and prospects of Poland’s shipbuilding industry including sources of funding will be on the agenda of 4 September. At the same day development prospects of seaports in Europe versus the development of seaports in Poland will attract the expert public. On the last day, 5 September, visitors will look into the subject of safety and security of ports and shipping and into technologies supporting environmentally friendly shipping development as well as modern B2B marketing applications.
