MacGregor, a part of Cargotec, has secured 50 mill. $ of orders for cargo handling solutions from Hyundai Heavy Industries. The[ds_preview] order follows options exercised by United Arab Shipping Company (UASC) for six more A-14-series (14,500 TEU) and one more A-18-series (18,800 TEU) container vessels from the yard. The vessels are on a rolling schedule of deliveries that starts this year and continues into 2016. All vessels will feature optimised MacGregor cargo handling solutions designed to maximise their cargo carrying capability and operational efficiency. The Mac­Gregor cargo handling system comprises hatch covers, a comprehensive lashing system and the product software Lashmate. A five-year extended MacGregor Onboard Care (MOC) agreement and a five-year operation guarantee are included in the contract.

MacGregor has also won an order from Sungdong shipyard in South Korea for side rolling hatch covers for ten 180,000 dwt bulk carriers built for Scorpio Bulkers with electrically-operated opening and closing system MacRack. The order includes the design and supply of key components and the fabrication of the hatch covers. Meanwhile MacGregor company Triplex launched two new series of telescopic deck cranes. The first vessel to be equipped with the Triplex TK type was the wellboat »Ronja Polaris«, owned by Sølvtrans Rederi and built at Astilleros Zamakona shipyard in Spain.

The first two vessels to be equipped with the Triplex Twin Telescopic straight arm deck cranes are the AHTS vessels for Petromina currently under construction at the Otto Marine Shipyard in Singapore.
