Steinbach Ingenieurtechnik, also known as SI-Technik, features a turnkey concept for ballast water treatment plants. The company is a[ds_preview] planning and sales office as well as a service provider in ship-related equipment offering premium support. The marine systems expert provides both a modular ballast water treatment (BWT) plant in cooperation with Norwegian manufacturer MMC Green Technology and a financing concept. In March, MMC alone reported to have sold 28 of their BWT systems so far, mostly to shipyards but also three to offshore vessel retrofits. The ballast water treatment plant used by SI-Technik is DNV-certified as well as USCG-approved.

The new financing concept in cooperation with Eksportfinans ASA enables clients to finance and install the ballast water treatment systems. The all-in-one concept also features professional support in project planning, installation and bringing into service. Engineering, the production of drafts for newly installed systems and retrofits are covered and taken into account, too.

At the occasion of »Green Technology

Days« (14/15 August 2014), SI-Technik invites other companies and showcases a demo unit of the modular MMC BWT system which has been installed more than 50 times, yet. The system thus proves a successful market solution and is currently being installed aboard »Ceona Amazon« at Lloyd Werft. SI-Technik has received follow-up contracts by German shipyards for further offshore vessels under construction. On the event Ramona Zettelmaier from Bureau Veritas will report on latest development in IMO and USCG regulation.
