Philip Wake, currently Chief Executive of[ds_preview] the NI, will retire in May 2017. From 1998 to 1999 he held the positions of Chairman of the London branch and became Chief Executive in 2003. Before working for the NI, Wake served at sea from Cadet to Chief Officer with Ellerman City Liners before coming ashore to a container consortium. He became a Senior Consultant in shipping economics at LMIS, and latterly was a Director of Clarkson Research Studies. In 2015 Philip Wake was awarded an OBE for services to the maritime industry.
