Japan Engine Corporation (J-ENG), China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation Diesel Engine (CSE) and China Shipbuilding & Offshore International (CSOC), subsidiary of China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (CSCI), have signed a license agreement for UE engines.
CSE was establis[ds_preview]hed in April 2017 through business integration of the three low speed marine diesel engine companies Yichang Marine Diesel Engine Co. (YMD), Qingdaohaixi Marine Diesel (QMD) and Dalian Marine Diesel (DMD). The three companies are subsidiaries of CSIC, and CSE was established aiming for further growth its competitive edge in the Chinese market.
J-ENG, YMD and QMD singed the UE engine license agreement in 2006, and in recent years, they mainly focus on continuous production of UEC33LSE Engine. As DMD becoming one of its factories under this new license agreement, J-ENG can provide the wider range of UE engines with bore size of from 33 cm to 80 cm in China.
CSE locates its headquarters in Qingdao focusing on design, sales, procurement and after-sales service, and with factories of YMD, QMD and DMD, it holds the production capacity of 4,000,000 BHP per year, which makes CSE one of the biggest manufacture of low speed diesel engines in China.
About 300 people from Qingdao city government, CSIC, ship owners, shipyards and other customers attended the opening & signing ceremony on August 29, 2017, and celebrated this grand occasion.
With the strong partnership with CSE, J-ENG will continuously promote the UE engines market share in China.
